A Message from the Lake Plains YMCA Executive Director Brian Payne:
The cost of everyday necessities continues to rise with no apparent end in sight. During these tough economic times, the Lake Plains YMCA would like to help the community by providing a service that will maintain its value over the next sixteen months.
For all of those individuals, families, seniors, and kids who are members in good standing as of September 1, 2008 the YMCA will hold membership rates at their current level until at least January 1, 2010. Current members do not need to do anything except keep your membership active.
Further, we feel that there is incredible value in a YMCA membership. For example, an adult membership is still less than a dollar a day. There are nearly 1000 current members in Orleans County that see the Y as an essential part of their lives. Additional value has been added with the available use of two other YMCA branch facilities in Batavia and Warsaw. Other value-added benefit details are available at the Y.
Lastly, the YMCA does not deny services to anyone due to the inability to pay. We have a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to all who qualify.
